Penile Cancer

Usually occurs in 50 -60 years

Risk Factors
  • Warts
  • Premalignant lesions of penis
Clinical Features
  • Non healing ulcer
  • Foul smelling discharge, blood in urine
  • Recent onset of phimosis
Evaluation
  • Biopsy of growth
  • CT scan abdomen,chest
Stage of disease
  • Very early stage – cancer involving foreskin or tip of penis
  • Early stage – cancer extending beyond tip of penis
  • Advanced stage- cancer spread to lymph nodes
  • Very advanced stage- cancer spread from penis to surrounding organs or liver,lung,bones
Treatments
  • Very early stage – circumcision
  • Early stage – partial removal of only tip of penis
  • Advanced stage – partial or complete removal of penis with lymph nodes in groin
  • Very advanced stage – chemotherapy and or radiation in some patients
